Triathlon Manitoba is pleased to present the 2011 Kids of Steel® Race Series. This series of races is geared towards children between the ages of 6 and 15. The purpose of these races is to introduce young people to the sport of triathlon in a fun, non-competitive, and safe manner.
Relay teams are encouraged! A fun alternative to participating as an individual, an athlete can form a team with one or two of their friends. With a three member relay team, each member would complete one portion of the race. With a two member relay team, one member would complete two portions, and the other member one portion. |
New for 2011:
To encourage participation, finishers from 6 to 11 years of age will be listed in the results alphabetically with their time in each age group. No placings will be awarded. |

Program Distances and Race Rules
Triathlon Canada, the owner of the Kids of Steel® program, has adopted a standardized set of rules for Kids of Steel® events across Canada. These rules identify the age categories, maximum distances, bike regulations, and "no exceptions" on racing in an older age category. Triathlon Manitoba will comply with these rules for all our sanctioned events. Triathlon Canada has identified maximum distances per age group, but provinces can offer a shorter distance. In Manitoba this is the case for some categories. Click here (PDF) for complete information on the distances offered in Manitoba and race rules explanation.
Note that races for Kids of Steel® Youth-aged athletes (16 to 19) are offered at our Sprint Series events. |
