High Performance Athletes

2001 High Performance Athletes

These athletes are Triathlon Manitoba members who have met male/female, elite/A/B time standards so far during the 2001 season.

Provincial Team members are those athletes who met the time standards at one of the two qualifying races (Triple Threat Triathlon or St Malo Triathlon), and then represented Manitoba at the 2001 Canadian Triathlon Championships in Drummondville on July 1st.  Athletes in the 19 & under Age Group are also eligible to qualify for a spot on the Provincial Junior Team.

The 2000 ITU Triathlon World Championships were in Perth in April 2000 (that is, before our 2000 Canadian triathlon season), so, for the 2001 National Team at the 2001 ITU Triathlon World Championships in Edmonton on July 22, 2001, there are a number of ways to qualify:

(*) Amy and Carolyn's times at the 2001 Canadian Junior Triathlon Championships at Birds Hill Park would have earned them a spot on the National Team, but they didn't meet the minimum age requirement of 16 (as of the date of Worlds).
