Elite High Performance athletes who are aged 16 to 19 race Junior Sprint (750m swim, 20K draft-legal bike, 5K run). The Canadian Junior Triathlon Championships are on July 9th in Edmonton Alberta..
Elite High Performance athletes who are aged 18 to 23 race U23, and aged 24+ race Elite (1500m swim, 40K draft-legal bike, 10K run). The Canadian Triathlon Championships are on July 2nd in Brampton Ontario.

Age Group Performance athletes are aged 18+, and they race in their age group (1500m swim, 40K no-drafting bike, 10K run). The Canadian Triathlon Championships are on July 2nd in Brampton Ontario.

"Unfortunately, Willie broke a couple of spokes on the cycle and was unable to finish the race. It was a very hilly and technical bike course. Both Sarah-Anne and Blair proved they could run competitively at the international level as Sarah had the 5th fastest female run, and Blair the 10th fastest male run."

Coach Gary Pallett writes:
Sarah-Anne got another silver medal at a Canadian Championships today. She had a great swim and made the lead pack of 7 on the bike. In the run she got out-run by Kathy Tremblay (who won the Pan American Sprint Championships, and was 3rd in the Mazatlan World Cup earlier this year). It was another amazing accomplishment considering this was only her 2nd sprint triathlon ever.

Manitobans named by Triathlon Canada to the 2006 National Triathlon Team (posted on August 12th)

Triathlon Canada has named the Elite, U23, Junior, and Age Group teams that will represent Canada at the 2006 ITU Triathlon World Championships in Lausanne Switzerland on September 2nd and 3rd. Six Triathlon Manitoba members will be competing:

Junior: Sarah-Anne Brault, Blair Peters, and Willie Bell.
