Edie was the 15th woman overall; 8 of the top 10 are listed as
professional triathletes. Gary Pallett adds:
Her time was 24 minutes off her best time set at Ironman Canada. This course is quite a bit more difficult than
Ironman Canada, especially with a hilly run. Edie broke the course record in her age category that
previously stood at 11:31:37, but she placed 2nd in her age category because of
an amazing strong field in the W45-49 category.

2001 ITU Triathlon Long Distance World Championship in Fredericia Denmark (posted on August 5, 2001)
Lyle Redman was the only Manitoban at the 2001 ITU Triathlon Long Distance World Championship in Fredericia Denmark yesterday. This event is a 3.8K swim, 180K bike and 42.2K run. Kinda sounds like an Ironman! It is, but the International Triathlon Union does not hold the copyright to the word Ironman, so they call it the ITU Triathlon Long Distance World Championship.

Gary Pallett points out that the winner of the race with a time of 8:37:58 is Jamie Cleveland, a former Triathlon Manitoba Provincial Team Member (1994). "This is the second time a former member of our association has won an Ironman race. Jamie joins Dave Kirk who won the 1987 Ironman Canada race."

Edie Fisher sets a new female Half Ironman course record at Morden (posted on July 16, 2000)
The female Half Ironman course record at Morden that Edie Fisher set in 1999 (4:58:43) was surpassed yesterday --- by Edie (4:57:03).
At 43 years old, and in her 7th year of triathlon, Edie's high performance level still speaks for itself. Her Olympic Distance time of 2:13:53 at the Raivo Tamm Triathlon last weekend was over 21 minutes below the "A" time for a 40 to 44 year old woman.
