2004 Junior Athletes -- Triathlon


Since 2002, the ITU World Triathlon Championships has had a Junior Sprint distance for athletes aged 16 to 19, and an Under 23 category at the Olympic distance for athletes aged 18 to 23.  Both races are draft legal. All categories are based on your age as of December 31st in the current year of competition. 

Our Junior athletes will compete at the Canadian Junior Triathlon Championships (Junior Sprint) on July 31st in Caledon Ontario.

Erin Braun & Amy Briscoe also qualified for the 2004 National Triathlon Team that competed at the 2004 ITU Triathlon World Championships in Madeira-Funchal Portugal on May 8, 2004.

Triathlon Canada's Junior and Youth rankings (updated on September 4)

The Triathlon Canada National Kids of Steel® Series consisted of 6 races (race #1 was at St Malo). The rankings are the final point standings in the series.

The male bronze medallist finished at 44:56 -- 3 seconds ahead of Blair who was closing in with the fastest run of the day.

Triathlon Canada has announced that Amy will be taking part in the 2004 Triathlon World Championships on May 8th in Madeira, Portugal as part of the Junior Women's Team.
