2005 Junior Athletes -- Triathlon

Junior

• High performance athletes aged 16 to 19 race Junior Sprint (750m swim, 20K draft-legal bike, 5K run).
• The Canadian Junior Triathlon Championships are on July 31st in Caledon Ontario.

U23

• High performance athletes aged 18 to 23 race U23  (1500m swim, 40K draft-legal bike, 10K run).
• The Canadian Triathlon Championships are on August 21st in Kelowna BC.

Note that 18 & 19 year olds can race at either distance. Competition age is as of December 31st in the current year.

Amy Briscoe is on Triathlon Canada's World Junior Triathlon Team (posted on August 21st)

Amy Briscoe is one of five exceptional Junior Elite athletes who has been chosen to represent Canada at the world’s most important triathlon event on September 10^th and 11^th in Gamagori Japan. The Junior Women will be racing on September 10^th.

Amy Briscoe is a constant threat to competitors on the National circuit.  Before the Junior Elite Triathlon Series even started, she won the title of National Duathlon Champion in Ottawa. Since then, she has had 2 more podium finishes (2^nd and 3^rd in St Malo and Trois Rivières, respectively), as well as a top 5 finish in Edmonton.
