Triathlon Manitoba is pleased to announce the success of the Betulaman Triathlon, which took place on Monday August 7, 2000 at Betula Lake, Whiteshell Provincial Park.

This race featured a Kids of Steel (ages 8 to 16)  distance of a 100M swim, 4.5K mountain bike, 1K trail run (Junior distance) or 200M swim, 9K mountain bike, 2K trail run (Senior distance). There were 66 participants in the Kids of Steel Race. 

There was also a Sprint Distance of a 750M swim, 13.8K mountain bike, 3.6K trail run held at the same time.  This race had 34 participants. 

The overall Male winner in the Kids of Steel Junior Distance was Ryan DePape with a time of 18:19 and the overall Female winner was Samantha Cross with a time of 20:36. The overall Male winner in the Kids of Steel Senior Distance was Brent Miller with a time of 33:54 and the overall Female winner was Erin Braun with a time of 39:55.

The overall Male winner in the Sprint distance was Philippe Chabot with a time of 55:32, and the overall Female winner was Jenny Ayers with a time of 1:05:55.
