July 23, 2000 --- Canadian Triathlon Championships, Manitoba results

Triathlon Manitoba is thrilled to announce the amazing performances of our Provincial Team Triathletes at the
2000 Canadian Triathlon Championships in Corner Brook,
Newfoundland today. Five of the team member will join Kevin Breiter (who had earned a
spot at Junior Nationals on July 2nd) on the 2001 Canadian Triathlon Team competing at the
World Triathlon Championships next July in
Edmonton.
Athletes with ** by their name earned a 2001 Worlds spot
**Rob Vallis had the top Manitoba performance finishing in a
time of 2:15:30 to place second in the Men's 20-24 year old age category and 6th overall
(out of 121).
**Patrick Peacock placed third in the Men's 25-29 age
category in a time of 2:18:06, this time place him 11th overall.
Jeff Morier finished 6th in the Men's 30-34 group in
2:20:09.
**Brian Schroeder won a gold medal in the Men's 45-49
age group with his 2:28:11 finish.
**Jim Munro claimed silver in the Men's 55-59 group in
2:28:40.
**Jenny Ayers also won herself a gold medal in the Women's
35-39 group in a time of 2:42:49.
Kevin Breiter raced in the Elite Men's race, which was a
draft-legal race, and placed 20th.
We would also like to congratulate Triathlon Manitoba's Executive Director Laurel Read who
it appears decided to race at the last minute and completed her first standard distance
triathlon.
