June 21, 2000 --- 2000 Manitoba Schools Triathlon results


Triathlon Manitoba is pleased to announce the success of the 2000 Manitoba Schools Triathlon Championships that was held last night at Birds Hill Provincial Park.  The race was postponed a week due to thundershowers, however it ran smoothly during the steady rain Tuesday evening. 

One hundred and thirteen participants braved the wet conditions and competed in a variety of distances ranging from a 100m – 300m swim, 5km – 15km bike and 1 – 3km run.  The winning school for the Early Years Category was Nordale, this is the first time Nordale has won this award.  The Middle Years Banner was captured by Lockport School.  The Senior Years Banner was reclaimed by Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive School who has their participants out in full force to retain their title.
