May 23, 2000 --- Brandon Kids of Steel

Triathlon Manitoba is pleased to announce that the first race in the 2000 Kids of Steel Series will take place in Brandon, Manitoba on Saturday May 27^th. 

The Triumphs Triathlon Club in Brandon will host this fun, safe and non-competitive event for kids, which helps them develop skills in three different sports.   The Junior distance is a 100m swim, 5km bike, and a 1km run.  Seniors complete a longer distance of 200m swim, 10km bike, finishing with a 2km run.  On-site registration at the Brandon Sportsplex begins at 7:00a.m., with the race start at 9:00 a.m. 

In the afternoon the Westman Regional Sport Association is hosting an Introductory Triathlon Clinic.  There will be no charge to participate, please call Jeff Hunt at 204-726-6072 for more details and to register. This is an excellent opportunity for all athletes who like to swim, bike, and run to learn more about the sport and prepare for the 2000 MTS Westman Regional Summer Games where triathlon will be one of the sports.
