August 13, 2002 --- Trappers' Triathlon Results

Despite pouring rain, 63 participants gathered in The Pas for the 18^th Annual A&W Trappers’ Triathlon.  The race started at 8:30 with five female participants in the Olympic Distance and five participants in the Try-a-Tri.  Three heats followed with participants in the male Olympic distance, female and male sprint distance and many relay teams. 

The competitors did laps in the Winton Pool, biked out to Ralls Island and ran along our community bike path that follows the Saskatchewan River.  Throughout the course there were numerous dedicated and hardworking volunteers directing traffic, ensuring that the roads were safe and hydrating the athletes.  We also had a group of reliable timing volunteers who did a great job keeping track of interval splits and finish times.  

Following the race, participants gathered at the A&W, where our sponsor, Barry Kreller, provided a buffet meal for participants and volunteers.  Participants were given their results along with gold, silver and bronze pins to recognize their achievements. 

Kelsey Recreation would like to thank all the participants, volunteers and sponsors who helped make our triathlon a huge success.  The overall winners are as follows:
