May 22, 2002 --- Prestige Duathlon #3 Results
The final race in the Prestige Duathlon Series took place on Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at Birds Hill
Park. It featured a 2k run / 13k bike / 2k run and a Kids of Steel distance.
Patrick Peacock and Kevin Breiter went into the final race in the series tied with one win each. At the end of the event, the first place male
finisher was Peacock from the Tribalistic Team in 36:10. Following closely in second was Breiter, from the Triple Threat Team in 36:25. Jeff
Morier, from Tribalistic, claimed third in 36:48. All three of these athletes are
training with the Manitoba National Triathlon Centre (MNTC) in preparation for National and International competitions this season.
The overall female winner was Tribalistic member, Jenny Ayers in 42:04. Amy Briscoe from Triple Threat Team and who trains with the MNTC place second in
42:57. Third place went to Tribalistic team member, Kimberly Macdonald in 44:25.
The next Tuesday night event is the Bike Tie & Run on May 28th and the Run/Bike/Skate Triathlon on June 4th. The races start at 6:30, with on-site
registration taking place starting at 5:15pm in the East Beach parking
lot.
