November 4, 2002 --- ITU Triathlon World Championships results

On Saturday November 9th, under blazingly hot conditions with temperatures pushing 40C, seven Triathlon Manitoba members were tested to the limits at the 2002 ITU Triathlon World Championships in Cancun, Mexico. The triathletes completed the Olympic distance event, which consisted of a 1.5km swim, 40km cycle, and 10km run course.

Edie Fisher (Kenora, Ontario) won a silver medal in the Women's 45 to 49 category, finishing just 20 seconds behind the category leader. This was Edie's 6th Worlds Silver medal - she's also won a Bronze and was World Champion (Gold) in 1993. Congratulations Edie!
