October 21, 2002 --- Duathlon World Results


Jenna Wilson places 7th at ITU World Duathlon Championships.

Winnipegger, Jenna Wilson, competed in the 2002 ITU World Duathlon Championships on October 20th in Alpharetta, Georgia, USA on October 19/20.  She completed a 5km run, 20km cycle, followed by another 2.5km run in 1:09:10, earning herself a 7th place finish in the Junior Elite race. Jenna was the top Canadian finisher of the 15 entrants.

A very impressive result for Jenna who has only finished competing for her first year in the sport. She was the youngest racer in the 16 to 19 year Junior Elite category, having turned 16 earlier this year. Jenna trains with the Manitoba National Triathlon Centre (MNTC) in Winnipeg.

Jenna qualified for the Canadian Duathlon team in Calgary, Alberta at the 2002 Canadian Duathlon Championships on September 8th with a fourth place finish at that event. She improved her time at Worlds by over 12 minutes.
