August 22, 2003 --- Jenna Wilson & Jacques Marcoux head to Duathlon Worlds
Winnipeggers, Jenna Wilson and Jacques
Marcoux are heading off to Affoltern am Albis, Switzerland on August 29 to31,
2003 to compete as part of the Canadian team at the 2003 ITU World Duathlon
Championships. The junior sprint
drafting distance consists of a 5km run, 20km bike and 2.5km run.
Jenna earned her team spot when she won the junior category at the
Canadian Duathlon Championships in Calgary in July. She will be looking to improve her world finish from 2002,
when she placed 7th and was the top Canadian junior female
competitor.
Jacques won the junior men’s category in Calgary and will be competing
in his first world championships.
Both athletes train with the Manitoba National Triathlon Centre (MNTC)
here in Winnipeg.
