![]()
Triathlon Manitoba is extremely pleased to announce that Deanna
McMullen, owner and trainer of the FittWell Centre in Morden, has committed to
organize the 2003 Morden International Triathlon. The event was in jeopardy of being cancelled earlier in the
week, before Deanna stepped up.
The triathlon community in Manitoba is ecstatic that the Morden
International Triathlon will continue for its 23rd year in the town.
The Triathlon Manitoba race calendar would not be the same without the
Half Ironman event, which has become a cornerstone of our race calendar and
draws many competitors from outside our province.
Triathlon is a sport that promotes and encourages lifestyle fitness, so
the FittWell Centre in Morden is an excellent fit for the event to compliment
these goals. We hope to build on this new partnership and further develop
triathlon training opportunities in the town. The continued support and
involvement of the community is appreciated and is fundamental to the success of
the Morden International Triathlon.
The Morden International Triathlon is a qualifying event for the 2003
Ironman Canada Triathlon, which takes place in Penticton, BC on August 24th.
It is additionally part of the Provincial Grand Prix Series, which brings
the province’s best triathletes together in head-to-head competition.
Triathlon Manitoba is looking forward to working with Deanna over the coming months to ensure the Morden International Triathlon continues to flourish.
