April 28, 2004 --- Manitoba Triathletes heading to Worlds in Portugal
On Saturday May 8th, seven Triathlon Manitoba members will be racing at the 2004 ITU World Triathlon Championships in Madeira-Funchal, Portugal.

Gary Pallett is the
Head Coach for National Junior & Under 23 teams.
The junior women will be racing in a
Sprint drafting event, which will consist of a 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km
run. They are heading to Madeira
early with coach Gary Pallett to participate with the National Junior and U23 team
members in a week of pre-event training/preparation camp that Gary will lead.
The Age Group triathletes will compete
at the Olympic distance, which consists of a 1.5km swim, 40km cycle, and 10km
run. Edie Fisher will be
trying to secure her 9th Worlds medal.
Mickey will be looking to improve on his World Age Group standing after
having just raced at the 2003
ITU Triathlon World Championships in Queenstown, New Zealand last December.
All the athletes qualified for the National team at National
Championship events during the 2003 season.
