August 16, 2004 --- Canadian Triathlon Championships
On
Sunday, August 22, 2004 the Kelowna Apple Triathlon Society will host the 2004
Canadian Triathlon Championships at Tugboat Beach in Kelowna, BC.
The
Olympic Distance consists of a 1.5 km swim, 40 km cycle, and 10 km run. Age
group athletes will swim two loops of the Okanagan Lake, cycle three loops, and
will finish with two 5 km loops of a flat course along lakeshore and Water
Street.
Age group athletes participating in the event include:

Junior
athletes Willie Bell and Jill Dobrinsky (both 16-19) will race on Saturday in
Triathlon Canada’s National Sprint Series final event.
Qualifying
spots for the 2005 World Championships in Hawaii will be awarded at the event.
