August 5, 2004 --- Canadian Junior Triathlon Championships results
Amy Briscoe claims Silver at 2004 Canadian Junior Triathlon Championships
On Saturday July 31st, in
Caledon (ON) the Campbell’s Ignite Caledon Continental Cup Triathlon took
place.
The junior elite race served as the 2004
Canadian Junior Triathlon Championship.
The juniors competed in a Sprint drafting event, which consisted of a
750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run.

The combined Junior Women’s
performances earned them the Award for Top Female Provincial Team.
On the Junior Men’s side, Willie Bell
(MNTC) came out of the water in the top 10 competitors.
He was cycling with the 2nd pack of cyclists when his tire
flatted and he crashed, which prevented him from completing the race.
In the age group event (1500m swim, 33
km cycle, 10km run), Patrick Peacock (Tribalistic) placed 2nd overall
in a time of 1:55:16 (1st in the male 30-34 age group) and Jacques
Marcoux (MNTC) was 4th overall in a time of 1:58:32 (2nd
in his age group).
There were also three athletes
representing Manitoba in the 14-15 category, where they completed a 400m swim,
11km cycle, and 4km run.
