July 12, 2004 --- Free Spirit Triathlon results


Patrick Peacock and Kimberly Mcdonald win Free Spirit Triathlon 

The Pinnacle Triathlon Team hosted a weekend of triathlon events this past weekend in Pinawa. The weekend started with a Kids Of Steel race for ages 6 to 15, which took place on Saturday July 10th. On Sunday, race three of the Manitoba Grand Prix Series, the Pinawa Free Spirit Triathlon and Duathlon was held. The Kids of Steel event had 76 participants, while the Pinawa Free Spirit Triathlon and Duathlon had 140 participants. 

Overall Female winners of the Olympic Distance (1500m swim, 40k bike, 10k run) were as follows: in first place was Kimberly Macdonald in 2:27:20. Melanie Leclair captured second place in 2:31:53. Third place went to Linda Markham in 2:37:55.  

On the men's side the Overall Male winner in the Olympic Distance was Patrick Peacock coming in with a speedy 1:58:25. Following in second was Jeff Morier in 2:02:02.  Third place went to Jared Spier in 2:10:14. All three men are members of the Tribalistic Team. 

In the Sprint Distance category (750 m swim / 20k bike / 5k run) the first woman across the line was junior athlete, Jill Dobrinsky in 1:12:43. Second place went to Michelle Barnet in 1:18:44, following immediately after was Kerri Earl in 1:18:51. 

On the male side, junior athlete Willie Bell won the Sprint Distance in a time of 1:02:50.  Second place went to Jacques Marcoux in 1:03:44. Myles Tycholis took third place in 1:07:47. 

In the duathlon event (5km run / 40km cycle / 10km run). The top placing male was Dale Kirk in 2:07:02. For the ladies, Christel Leclair came in first with a time of 2:40:42.
