July 28, 2004 --- Essex Road Multi-Sport Day
On Saturday, July 31, 2004 the Essex Road Multi-Sport Day
will be held on Essex road - just north of Kenora, ON. This unique sport day,
hosted by the Kenora Borealis Multi-Sport Club, offers seven sporting events to
choose from, with an event for everyone in the family.
Morning Events:
Open to children between the ages of 8 to 15. The Kids Of Steel® distances are as follows:
| 8 to 11 years | 100 m swim, 5 km cycle, 1 km run |
| 12&13 short | 200 m swim, 10 km cycle, 2 km run |
| 12&13 long, 14&15 short | 300 m swim, 10 km cycle, 3 km run |
Afternoon Events:
750 m swim, 17 km cycle, 5 km run
2.5 km run, 17 km cycle, 5 km run
750 m swim, 17 km cycle, 750 m swim
The event will take
place on Edie and Bruce Fisher’s farm on Essex Road. Among many achievements,
Edie is an eight-time medallist at the ITU Triathlon World Championships, a
ten-time Triathlon Manitoba Female
Triathlete of the Year, and holds the Ironman Canada record
for the Womens 45 to 49 age group (10:46:48 in 2002).
