October 8, 2005 --- Six
Manitoba Triathletes competing at the ITU World Age Group Triathlon
Championships
The
Canadian Age-Group Triathlon Team will be competing in the World
Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii on October 8th and 9th.
Manitoba has six members on the team who will be racing at the
Olympic distance, which consists of a 1500m swim, 40km cycle and 10km run.
Jeff
Morier
- Overall
2005 Canadian Age Group Triathlon Champion (and Gold in Male 35-39)
- Triathlon
Canada’s 2004 Age Group Athlete of the Year
- This
will be Jeff’s 5th time representing Canada at Worlds.
Edie
Fisher
- 2005
Nationals - Gold medal in Female 45-49 category
- Edie is an eight- time medallist at the World Triathlon Championships (1 gold, 6
silver, 1 bronze).
Cherrie
Fournier
- 2005
Nationals – 4th in Female 35-39 category
- This
is Cherrie’s third time on the Canadian team.
Bethany
Pechey
- 2005
Nationals - Silver medal in Female 20-24 category
- Honolulu
will be Bethany’s first world championship.
Mickey
Stokotelny
- 2005
Nationals - Silver medal in Male 70+ category
- This
will be the 6th time Mickey races for Canada.
Scott
Taylor
- 2005
Nationals - Bronze medal in
Male 45-49 category
- This
will be the 2nd time Scott races on the National team.
