September 9, 2005 --- Amy Briscoe racing on Canadian Junior Triathlon Team

Amy Briscoe will be representing Canada at the worlds most important triathlon event on September 10th and 11th.  Amy is on the Canadian World Junior Triathlon Team competing at the Triathlon World Championships in Gamagori, Japan this weekend. The event is a sprint distance triathlon, which consists of a 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run.

Amy trains in Winnipeg with the Manitoba National Triathlon Team (MNTC).  This will be her 2nd year on the Canadian Junior Team, having competed at Triathlon Worlds in May 2004.   Amy Briscoe is viewed as a constant threat to competitors on the National circuit.  Before the Junior Elite Triathlon Series started, she started off the season by winning the title of National Duathlon Champion in Ottawa.

Amy earned her spot on the Canadian team by competing at 4 Junior Elite Triathlon Series events across the country from June through July.  At three of the series events she placed on the podium.

Amy will be competing with Canadian teammates Kirsten Sweetland (Victoria, BC), Catherine Hogan (Bedford, QC), and Véronique Bilodeau (Trois Rivières, QC).
